Q&A : What is Karma?

Think of Karma as the lessons you need to learn throughout your incarnations. If you don’t understand and integrate the lessons, you will continue to hold onto them. You will also experience physical manifestations of karma (disease). Have you heard of the “life review” that many NDE survivors experience? They say, “My whole life flashed before my eyes!” What is happening is that all of their karma flashed before their eyes. This is also what can happen when you work with plant medicines that contain DMT, like Ayahuasca. Not all of the karma is fully processed after each lifetime. Some karma is so heavy that it follows you into other lifetimes. When I work with people on clearing chakras, we are focused on clearing karma within those chakras.
When karma is cleared or released, it often feels like a purge of memories, beliefs, and perspectives. These memories often appear to come out of nowhere. Integration of energy healing is imperative in part because of the nature of letting go of karma. Many emotions and feelings come up when we start to process our memories, especially if those memories contain traumatic events.
Karma isn’t always some dramatic scene, as seen in the movies. It does include the “big” stuff, but it also consists of the “small” stuff. All karma is as equally important to clear. I’ll share some stories of the karma that I have cleared through my Kundalini Awakening. With all karma, the way to clear or heal is to acknowledge, forgive, and integrate the lesson.

I had a memory from 20+ years ago pop up of a friend who invited me to an art event. As he handed me one of the handmade invitations, I could feel the Love and care that went into the invitation. I could feel the energy behind the gesture. The intentions were romantic and pure. At the time (20 years ago), I did not recognize or acknowledge the Love he was expressing. The lesson was that I had not recognized gestures of true romantic Love when it was right before me for most of my life. And even if I did realize it, most of the time, I didn’t acknowledge it. To go a bit further, I often misidentified the intentions of romantic partners. Taking their actions or words as Love when they did not have pure intentions.

I remember a man asking me on a date, again many years ago. I went on the date even though I wasn’t interested in him, hurting both of us. The lesson was that I went against my authentic self. I failed to use my personal power to say no. Basically, I said yes when I meant no.
Those are a few examples of my cleared karma. I hope they give you more context into what karma can look like.
Karma following you from other lifetimes can be harder to nail down because you aren’t conscious of it. With this karma, you’ll have to be self-aware and look at patterns that appear in your life for clues. You might not ever get to the specific scenario, but you might be able to understand the general issue and course correct.
Some examples are:
You have chosen societal expectations over Love. This is a big one, I'm finding.
You devalue yourself
You misunderstand the relationship between sex and unconditional love
I want to note that karma is of the mind and this dimension. Once you hit Unity Consciousness, there is no such thing as karma. So, Until then, keep on cleaning it up!
